CEREC

CEREC (Ceramic Reconstruction) can provide you with crowns in a single visit.  It is a computer-aided design and ceramic restoration system that allows us to create permanent restorations in our clinic.  That means we can design, fabricate, and place an aeshetic porcelain restoration in a single visit.  CEREC can create inlays (porcelain fillings), onlays, and crowns.

The machine is mobile and works on a CAD-CAM principle.  We take a digital picture with the special camera attached to the machine, which converts the image to a special three dimensional model of the tooth.  The restoration is then designed on the computer and with a click of a button this data is transferred to a dedicated Milling machine which then carves a block of porcelain into the indicated shape of the restoration.  This process can take 10-20 minutes and following polishing the restoration is cemented into place.  This way you can have your porcelain filling or a crown in a single visit!
