Veneers

There's no reason to put up with gaps in your teeth or with teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. Today a veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct nature's mistake or the results of an injury and help you have a beautiful smile.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front side of teeth (like a false fingernail fits over a nail). They're made by a dental technician, usually in a dental lab, working from a model provided by your dentist .

You should know that this is usually an irreversible process, because it's necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell.

Dental veneers can modify and  enhance the shape, size and shade of your teeth and can be successfully applied in smile enhancement.  With age, the thin, hard white substance covering your teeth (enamel) may become worn, and discolored. Such wear and discoloration may be natural or the result of a genetic predisposition. However, most often as a result of your habits (soft drinks, tea, or coffee consumption, smoking, etc.) teeth become worn or discoloured.  Teeth also naturally wear down as people age and aged teeth are more likely to have chips, cracks or a generally uneven appearance.

Certain people may be born with small sized teeth and abnormal spacing between the teeth, and in such cases, veneers most often are an ideal option for cosmetic corrections .
